Perfect Smile

This is Bryan with his dentist (and also his god-mom). His only been here once before and I try to make it a fun and interesting trip. His "Harry and the dinosaurs say Rrraaah!" book also helps. He especially loves the 'special' chair that goes up and down. And the cup that fills itself.

His dentist is lovely with children. She makes him feel comfortable and explains everything. He also gets to use a mirror to see what's going on. It's really not that scary. Then after he gets his teeth polished, he gets to take home a couple of stickers.

Phuket, Thailand Day 5

Today was the day we were going home. So we had a late breakfast and packed up. Bryan insisted on a final swim. While Gabriel took a nap. We ate lunch at the airport which actually was pretty good. By the time we got home, it was almost dinner time. It was nice to be home. But I definately want to go back when the kids are older. We could go on the boat rides and do more fun stuff... Now, to take a holiday from the holiday...

Phuket, Thailand Day 4

Today was a very wet day. It rained and then drizzled and then rained again. But we did manage to take a walk around the hotel, round to the kids club. Where Bryan made a pen/pencil holder. It was really nice. But since the weather was a bit unpredictable, we decided to swim in the pool in the villa instead. Gabriel too.

We rested until late and then took a minivan to the famous Patong Beach for dinner. The seafood was yummy. But not that cheap. After that, we walked down the Patong mall strip. And saw lots of really interesting stuff. But we had to cut it short because it started to rain a bit more. Luckily, the minivan was there to pick us up.

Phuket, Thailand Day 3

After seeing the baby elephant, Bryan wanted to ride on an elephant. He kept asking for an elephant ride. So we went on a shuttle bus to Laguna Beach hotel to book one. It was a BIG elephant. But Bryan loved it. He was seated on a chair strapped onto the elephant's back with Daddy to make sure he didn't fall. Then he got to feed the elephant some bananas after.

The shuttle bus then took us to Banyan Tree and the golf course cafe. There was a lovely waterfall just right there. It was a very nice lunch.

That night, we took just Bryan with us for a cultural show at Fantasea. The whole place was actually a theme park. There were lots of beautiful shops to look at. Dinner was held in beautiful golden buffet hall. But nothing eclipsed the gorgeous theatre. And the show was fabulous. I love how all the different Thai cultures and elements were incorporated into the show. The best part were the elephants! Too bad we couldn't take any photos of the elephants. We did manage to get a photo with a tiger cub. It was so cute!

Phuket, Thailand Day 2

In the morning, we decided to go swimming. On the way to the pool, we were sidetracked by a baby elephant playing at the beach. It was so adorable.

The hotel pool was really big, with a gradual slope with stairs. Bryan and Gabriel loved it. They were playing in it, going from one end to the other.

Then we went for a boat ride on the lagoon. It was really hot that day. We stopped at the Canal Village for lunch and picked up some snacks and minimart stuff. Oh and some ice-cream...

That evening we saw a beautiful sunset.

Phuket, Thailand Day 1

Our Phuket trip was great! We had so much fun. It's the first long overseas holiday for us in a very long time. So everyone was really looking forward to it. Bryan was especially looking forward to it. He counted down the days to the holiday. And he was so excited about taking an airplane. The flight was a short one but Bryan enjoyed it. He was even given a meal which included macaroni. Gabriel slept the whole way.

When we got to the hotel, we were given a villa. Which was actually really nice. It had a lovely big living area. The 2 bedrooms were downstairs. And upstairs, on the roof was a small pool. That evening, we had dinner at a restaurant overlooking a lagoon. It was quiet, breezy. Nice.

Weekly Scrapz

This is quite a different layout. I used a 10" paper layout and let some of the photos/embellishments stick out of the layout. I used Crate Paper's Little Sprout papers, rub-ons. And some chipboard embellishments by My Mind's Eye.

More colour blocking to use up leftover scraps. I also used leftover Heidi Grace embellishments. Rub-ons are from Little Yellow Bicycle. The lovely journalling stamp is from Ali Edwards Technique Tuesday.

This layout used up the rest of my Little Sprout papers and October Afternoon diecuts. It's hard to see on the photo but I used popup stickers to pop up parts of the layout. Like the wings of the bee.

Stand Part 1

After we put down the cot, Gabriel now tries to stand up in it. He'd grab the side rails and slowly pull himself up until he can grasp the top. Then he'd tip toe to try to look over the top and get excited at what he can see. He gets tired though and then he'll let go and fall on his bum. After which he'll try again and again and again.

Bathtime

Gabriel sits up in his bath now. And he gets all these lovely bath toys to play with. All handed down from Bryan. He has a fish and a star and an octopus but his favourite is the cup. We use that to pour water over his head to wash his hair. Then he'd take it and try to scoop water up to drink.

A Cut Together

Bryan wanted a haircut over the weekend. So I brought him to his favourite hairdresser. I thought since I'm already here, I may as well cut Gabriel's hair too. Otherwise the next trip would be in at least 2 months time. And Gabriel's hair is already growing past his ears.

So my little baby had his hair cut too. Very short. Very cute and neat. He fussed a bit, towards the end, when he got a bit upset with the hairdresser and the clippers. But it was done, very quickly.

Swim Update

So Bryan's been at his swimming class since April. He's already graduated to the adult pool. And he's been practising his kicking and holding his breath underwater. He's getting better each time but practise makes perfect. And as long as he's enjoying himself.

Gabriel sometimes accompanies Bryan to his classes. And this time, I brought his swimming stuff along so that he could have a dip in the pool. Now he just sits and splashes in the pool. But he enjoys it. Like a gigantic bath.

Weekly Scrapz

I brought out an old Maya Road chipboard album for Bryan's 4th birthday party photos. The papers were from Bella Blvd, some embellishments from Crayola and Lily Bee rub-ons. The lovely clear word stickers are from Little Yellow Bicycle Say What collection. I also used Little Yellow Bicycle's Everyday journalling spots . And the blue glitter alphabets are from American Crafts Thickers. This took me a whole week to complete.

My Boys

Aren't they just so lovely together? Gabriel loves to watch his brother and try to play with him. Bryan loves to hug his brother and talk to him. They sleep together in their own room. And I think Bryan likes the company.

I'm sure when Gabriel grows bigger, and he can walk and talk, they'll have even more fun playing together.

9 Months

Gabriel's 9 months! He's more mobile now. And can push himself around on his tummy to get to stuff. We had to lower his cot recently too because he was trying to stand in his cot.

And he's such an angel. So lovely to look after. He takes two 2 hour naps. One in the late morning and another one in the afternoon. Then at night, he sleeps by 10pm and wakes up at 7am. He can be a bit fussy with food. He likes his cereal a certain texture. But he would eat most vegetables together with his porridge. No fuss.

Work Life Balance

After 2 years of going to Saturday afternoon lectures and tutorials. Then exams in the past couple of weeks. I'm finally done with my postgrad studies. It's such a relief! I think I'm developing mild post traumatic stress disorder from my OSCEs. I still get a bit of palpitations when I think about it. Which I think should get much better after I get the results next week. *Crossing my fingers*

I do feel much more relaxed at work now. I used to study when I can catch a breath between consultations. And I don't mind that my clinic is picking up and I see more patients in the morning too.

Weekly Scrapz

I wanted to scrap about me and Chun Chong. It's been a while since I've scrapped something about just the both of us, without the kids or other family activities. I wanted it to be something special, Ever After.

This layout is a simple colour block layout. Very simple to do and nice on the eyes. I especially like the puffy light blue Rainboot Thickers. This layout is about Bryan's swim classes.

June happens to be one of the hottest months in Singapore. A lot of our weekends are spent in the pool in the club. And I also brought Gabriel for his first dips in the pool too. I used a compass to draw out the circles of varying size. And the ducks from October Afternoon are really cute.

For this layout, I used up the rest of my Little Yellow Bicycle Zinnia collection. And some die-cuts from the October Afternoon Cherry Hill collection.

Starting his IT eduation early. Gabriel has a rather profound interest in all things electronic. Especially remote controls, handphones, mice...

Sun and Sea

We spent Sunday morning at Tanjong Beach on Sentosa Island. It was a nice sunny day. It's not too crowded at that beach which is a good alternative to the main Siloso Beach. I have to admit that the beaches here in Singapore are nothing really to crow about but at least the kids get to see the sea and play on the beach. Me? I love the sound of the waves breaking on the shore. So soothing and relaxing.

Yummy Dessert

Met my best friends on Saturday for lunch at Cedele. The pasta was quite good. I had the mushroom bacon one. The soups were ok only though. Neither of us had the sandwiches or the main courses, so no comments there. But we did have the dessert, which looked really yummy. It was a Chocolate dessert. There was a chocolate cake and brownie with strawberry sauce. Mmmm...
