2009 Scrapz

My first 2009 scrapz. I wanted to do something a bit more intricate and complex than my usual quick scrapping. I neatened the layout and added more details and more journalling. It's simple but I like it. Definately different and in a good sort of way.

Most of the papers, stickers, chipboard are from Heidi Grace's Baby collection.

Random Photo

I haven't realised that it's been more than a week since my last post. I hardly have time to myself. I work from 9 in the morning to 6 in the evening. Then I get through peak hour traffic to get home for dinner. Pretty much the rest of the evening is spent with my boys.

Weekends? I work half day on Saturdays and the afternoon is spent sitting in a lecture theatre. So I'm left with a precious Sunday to recharge and enjoy family time.

I wish I had 8 days every week.

4 months

Gabriel is getting more adorable now. He smiles and laughs at everyone. And he can be really chatty at times. He enjoys sitting up and looking around. And he will reach up and grab his favourite toys.

He's a little behind in his immunisations. Just because he's been ill. First he had the sniffles, which he recovered from. Now he's got a rather persistent fever which I'm worried could be dengue or something similar. My poor baby. I hope he gets well soon.

A Birthday Party

Bryan was invited to a birthday party this past weekend. It was Megan's 4th birthday and it was held at a poolside. This is actually his first birthday party invitation for the year. So it was all very exciting for him.

The theme of the party was Dora's Tropical Fiesta. There were games and balloons and lots of running around. The cake looked really special and tasted delicious too. Bryan was all hot and sweaty after but he really enjoyed himself. Now he wants a birthday party of his own.

Wild Weather

If I thought Singapore was hot, the weather in Victoria, Australia was worse. Apparently, the temperatures over the past week soared to an unbelievable 47 degrees. Setting off bushfires over hundreds of hectares of land. The death toll alone has reached past 100, with thousands left homeless.

It's also shocking to hear that some of the fires were deliberately lit.

Police now suspect arsonists could have caused the deaths of more than 130 people in the weekend's horrific fires.

CFA volunteers are still battling 15 fires across Victoria after containing 17 others and bringing 99 under control.

My heart goes out to all those who have lost family, friends and homes in this disaster. Melbourne holds a special place in my heart, having spent 7 years of my life there. I have friends living out there as well and I hope that they are ok too.

Meanwhile, the worst is not yet over. Fires are expected to continue burning.

Fire authorities warned bushfires would continue to burn in the coming weeks and asked all Victorians, including those in metropolitan Melbourne, to be prepared to fires particularly with next week's predicted hot weather.

Mozzie Izzues

The weather lately has been rather erratic. Mostly hot with spots of showers. This is the perfect condition for mosquito breeding.

My poor little Gabriel has got so many mozzie bites, mostly on his arms and a couple on his face. *#!#@! mosquitoes. I hope you fly into a window pane and DIE! *evil laugh*

Not A Good Week

I had high hopes that this week would be a good week for me. I'm back at work, doing something that I like. I hoped to find the time to start studying for exams in June/July as well.

But the flu that's been going round at home suddenly hit me the start of the week. And both my boys are sick as well. So as the week goes by my energy levels have been dropping exponentially. And I'm exhausted by the time I get home.

So it's been a terrible week for me so far. And my work week ends on a Saturday so I only have Sunday to sleep in before the new week starts again. Sigh...

Before I Start Work Scrapz Part 1

I'm starting work next week after a long 4 month maternity leave. I'm going to be spending most of my free time studying for my post-grad exams in June/July so I will barely have time to scrap anything.
