Weekly Scraps

These are done with Pink Paislee's 365 degrees. I initially wasn't sure if I'd use it much so I got a few pieces to try. And I love the way it turned out. I especially liked the flip notes, and the pleated ribbon. I also used some of Fancy Pant's Family. It's great for family/boy layouts.


This is the last of my Prima papers. They are gorgeous and lovely to work with. I saved this for my MIL's birthday.


I mixed October Afternoon's Night Light with their Hometown papers. It's a simple layout. And I'm doing a similar one, mirror image of the other and with black background. And the word, Yes.

A Sleepy Weekend

For me. I was dozing off while watching the kids play. They do quite ok together. Each will use the lego blocks for different things. Bryan to build houses and towers. Gabriel to hold and try to stuff it into his other toys.

Then they had a great time with bubbles. Me blowing bubbles until I felt really giddy and had to sit down. Both boys were running around catching them. It was such fun!

But that made me sleepier at night. And hubbie put on the Hurt Locker, which was ok, not exciting enough to keep me awake through the whole show. Perhaps I need to try sleeping early. 6 hours of sleep is clearly not enough.

Weekly Scraps

This is the last of my 2009 photos that I planned on scrapping. It's the New Year Eve photos. When my boys were playing the pool. I used ACs Dear Lizzie patterned papers and rubon. With LYB's journalling cards and words. And some Hambly's clear stickers.

Zoo Babies

This zoo trip was very good. We all got up late and by the time we made it to the zoo, we had to park right at the end of the carpark. But the animals were all out, lazing around.

Bryan had just watched the Lion King and wanted to see all the African animals. We saw Pumba and Timmon and Simba. And all the others, like the giraffe, zebra, rhinos. I especially liked to see the baby animals. It's special to know that even animals have families.

Langkawi Day 4

It was going home day today. But our flight was at 4pm so we had a lot of time to while away. All of us woke up very late. And decided to walk around the hotel. We discovered the other wing, which looked like it was closer to the sea. And much more expensive I imagine.

We also found the games/library room. It was completely empty. So we went in and tried to play a game of snooker. It's been a long while since I've picked up a cue. So it was fun for me.

Lunch was KFC at a petrol station. It had a little discovery area which Bryan was itching to go to. It had lots of fun stuff, like balls, and learning about gravity, balance etc. Gabriel slept right through lunch and woke up just in time to run around the play area.

Then it was time to go to the airport. I was actually pleasantly surprised that the plane was early. The flight left on time and arrived early. Which I felt was a huge bonus. So flying budget isn't all as bad as it sounds. And if you pay up the premium for more luggage space and better seats, the experience is pretty ok. But of course, keep expectations low and the experience wouldn't be as bad as what other people make it up to be.

Langkawi Day 3

Today, our adventures took us to the Underwater World. Bryan really wanted to go. It was actually not too bad. There was a rainforest section, a penguin section, a section with all the freshwater and marine fishes. A bit like an aquarium but there was a wide variety of fishes. There was also a big tunnel tank with sharks and all. Both Bryan and Gabriel were fascinated with the fishes and sharks and other stuff. There were even sea urchins, eagle rays and a stone fish.

At the souvenir shop, I bought a T-shirt for Bryan. And Bryan picked out some Nemo cups.


Later that afternoon, we went for a walk on the beach. It was a very nice, quiet beach. The sun was still very hot But with loads of sunscreen on, even Gabriel didn't mind. Bryan and hubbie discovered a small stream that emptied into the sea. And Bryan picked seashells there.


Gabriel walked on the soft sand which he found rather interesting. Then he picked out small crabs running around on the sand. And kept stopping to point them out. It was really cute! He had never seen them before. It was fascinating stuff to him.


Dinner was at the beach. The setting sun made it a lovely place to sit and eat dinner. There were quite a number of ants though so we made it quick, waited for the sun to set and then left. The sunset was amazing though. The photo saz it all. I didn't change/photoshop it at all. This is exactly what it looked like.

Langkawi Day 2

Today, we decided to try the nearby national park. There was supposed to be a cable car but it was under maintenence. And Bryan was quite upset that it was closed. But we did visit the Animal Garden where he fed the rabbit. Which cheered him up a bit.

We drove up a bit more to visit the waterfall. Gabriel couldn't go because it was a steep climb up and down steps. So I went with Bryan. After a long climb and another long walk, we finally reached the waterfall. It was nice. Bryan liked it. We took off our shoes and got up to a nice spot to take photos. Then we dipped our toes into the cool water. It felt lovely after a hot day's trek. It reminded me of the times when my dad would take me to waterfalls for a swim.

Later on, we drove down to a strip of motels and restaurants for dinner. It was much cheaper than the hotel and pretty yummy too. On the drive back, we passed the airport's runway and watched an aeroplane land.
